If we had known then what we know, there is no way we would have ever bought a Jayco or any Thor Industries product. While we knew there would be some issues to be dealt with when buying the camper, we had no idea that the Jayco Warranty team would put such effort to slow walk approvals, part ordering/ shipping, and flat no follow up with CW to verify they actually performed the work.

We dropped our unit off the CW no less than 4 times and were told they completed the requested warranty claims and obviously did absolutely nothing (fraud). Let our unit sit for months and say it was Jayco holding up the parts, stealing property out of our unit, claiming to fix a water leak with it leaking again and again and again and us finding shop rags laying under the leak as if that was a fix. Service writer after Service writer after Service writer promising the world and screwing us over.

CW Tallahassee is the worst example of customer service of any business I have had the unfortunate circumstance to be involved with. GM Linda Salis is a *** poor excuse for a leader and manager. We havent asked for anything superordinary, just take care of the issues requested and obvious warranty and let us move on. But they're horrendous business practices make as hard on themselves as it does the customers. Its dumbfounding and totally unecessary.

Unfortunately I don't have the luxury to dump the unit and move on to another brand, but cannot wait for that day. I have included a few of the 28 issues documented and served up to CW, Jayco, and Thor Industries.

The water heater plastic fitting leak.

The smoke detector that never had the shipping tag pulled out of the battery during our $400 "dealer prep".

The TV mount installed unlevel and supposedly repaired after ordering a new mount and leveling (twice fraud and possibly racketeering if the money crossed state lines and it can be proven as a common business practice at multiple CW locations.

The tongue jack that Jayco misapplied not utilizing any engineering practices nor field measuring tongue weight because the did not take into account the additional weight of a bunkhouse, refrigerator, and outdoor kitchen all at the bow of the camper effecting tongue weight.

I have choice words for Lemonis and if he ever has the plums to talk face to face I'm sure I would get the same BS speak they have trained there store people to spew.

You never said that the tongue jack worked or did not work. The TV mount was unlevel and you think this is fraud and racketeering.

Give me a break. The battery plastic strip is used to maintain the charge of the battery before its purchased. Why not just pull it out and problem fixed. Is that fraud too?

Water heater fitting is a pex plumbing fitting. I'll give you this one. Anyone with plumbing experience can fix this pretty easy if they can get to it.

I suggest you take an rv repair course and get yourself a decent set of tools. Campers are not for the faint of heart or those not mechanically inclined

Auto levvel

My Precept has been to the dealer twice for the auto level not working right. And, now jayco says won't pay for it , if it happens again. It's so bad it will lift the front wheels 6 inches off the ground. The last time I used it, it still was unlevel.

It’s a real shame

I never write reviews, however after spending 100k we feel you should be aware . We purchased a 2019 Jayco motorhome in January 2019. Our first vacation was in Florida for 2 months. This is our first motorhome and buyer beware. In two months we had : 5 water leeks 2 fires Drive seat material has peeled off Bench table seats fall apart Dash falling apart. Listen we all get the fact that things happen however when fires happen below the bed your sleeping in that’s a little different . We have sent e mails to Jayco with no response , until our dealership reached out to Jayco and asked them to contact us, which did happen. Our first initial contact with Jayco seemed positive, however a week later the understanding from Jayco was gone. They told us the reason we had two fires was surges in hydro, call our insurance company for a claim . The fact is we had a surge protector so not really sure how that works. We are so frustrated with Jayco we have decided to return brand new unit to dealer and at a loss of $ 21,000.00 to use. We are both professional ppl and have been in the service industry for 30 plus years . The lack of professionalism from Jayco is shocking and very disturbing. This is the last quote we got from Jayco. “ if you built a house and had a problem you would call your insurance company and not the builder” Think about that. If your going to purchase any kind of rv , take a step back and really think before you purchase a Jayco. All the best Dave

Poorly Built and don't depend on the 2 year warranty

I never read reviews because they are sometimes based one bad experience. But if you buy a Jayco you will have lots of bad experiences. 9/13/2018 I bought a new Jayco, it was exciting I had so many plans for places to go and just being able to have fun and freedom. After a week and a half the bed started bowing, and the walls started bowing. I was annoyed, the dealer which is 68 miles away said to bring it in and drop in off so they could diagnose it. I will admit I was annoyed because its a week and a half and I didn't buy a trailer to tow it back and forth to have it serviced. But the problems got worse, the microwave rusted, the plumbing leaks, when drain the gray tank the hoses under the bathroom sink leak as well. the hot water heater is iffy at best. Those are just a few things that are wrong. Jayco doesn't care, they make it very hard to get service. When the trailer started leaking I called them, in two weeks I can bring it in, they will get it in the shop in about 10 days, my favorite part is some parts take 3-7 weeks to get. I called them several times over issues and I gave up, its like talking to a brick wall, they stand behind their product until you buy it. Then you are just stuck with a bunch of problems that the solution is bring it on in, leaves it for weeks and we will see what we can do. Travel trailers are supposed to be fun, a home away from home, I paid 26K for mine and maybe to that doesn't sound like much to some people but its a lot to me. I planned on spending the money, but I also thought I was buying something I could enjoy.

Preferred solution: I just want it fixed, but I also have major concerns about a new trailer having so many issues and the problems, I will never understand making a customer feel like they are an incovience.

Water tank issues

We purchased a Jayco Octane in October of 2018. The water tank is listed to hold 100 gal of water. We can only get 50 gal out. We had to buy water cans to fill up the tanks. The trailer has been in the shop for three months out of 6 months for additional repairs.

90 Day Adjustment Period

Bought a 2019 White Hawk 27RB in December 2018 out of state and immediately put it in storage until the weather got better. Brought the trailer home last month (March 2019) to get ready to use and noticed storage doors warped with an inch gap on the top and closes flush at the bottom. Our theatre seat w/ heat and massage option, the massage unit is knocking on the frame inside the seat. The wood trim on another storage door has an 5 inch area that was never sanded and the stain doesn't match the rest of the door. Brought our trailer to a local authorized/certified Jayco dealer to fix this warranty work and we were told it is passed the 90 day adjustment period and all the repairs needed I would have to pay for! I told them I bought this trailer for the 2 year warranty and they said that Thor is doing away with the Jayco 2 year warranty. Called another dealer to do the repair work and they are scheduling warranty work in October 2019. This is ***

It is now 4/15/2019 and after at least 4 or 5 conversations, the payment has not been received. Today, I waited for 15 minutes to speak to someone in cust service when the phone call was dropped.

I made the horrible mistake of buying a Jayco. It has been one issue after another and jayco dont fix anything unless there forced into it. After having about a hundred and fifty issues repaired it's still not over. I've had faulty plumbing, faulty Electrical, squiqe floors, leaking windows, faulty water heater, faulty heat ducks, faulty furnace, torn roofing on the slide, torn weather strips on four slides, a front cap with no insulation, a door that won't close, a slide controller that wont work.and all this is on a brand new 57 thousand dollar Jayco Eagle. All the above are issues that have been worked on. And now i find that the entire roof including the other 3 slides have staples that Jayco used on the roof plywood are not all the way in the plywood and are poking threw the rubber roof matting. I got on the roof and photographed 34 staples poking right threw the rubber roof matting. Jayco's answer to the problem is tp take a note of it but tp do nothing.

Any body considering the purchase of a Jayco save your self a lot of heartache grief and money. Get a cheap card board box. A cardboard box is made with a lot higher quality than a Jayco. And a cardboard box won't put you out of anywhere near as much money .Jayco's answer to this faulty manufacturing

Issue is that it's a cosmetic fault. Yah like when i chose to pay for new i agreed to pay for cosmetic issues or any other issues.

jayco is 100 percent pure JUNK.

They don't look like staples pulling out or coming through the roof material to me. Jayco screws the roof sheathing to the trusses so no staples used.

Not happy

Left for an 800 mile trip to Gulf Shores in our new Jayco redhawk with hopes of sun, fun and relaxation. 9 days into our trip we awoke to our refrigerator at 55 degrees. Called Norcold and they were just sorry to hear about it. Told to check thermister..not the problem. Nearest repair 60 miles away and then days to order parts once they diagnosed the problem. We bought a cooler and ice and headed back to Illinois. We lost most of our food, forfeited money for advanced reservations, and may not get dealer to repair it for weeks. When pulling up camp, our bump out would not operate properly. Finally got it to retract but leary of putting back out. No one at Jayco, Norcold, or dealership had much to offer except apologies... Not sure this would be a good purchase....do much research before you pay Sad

Life Time Warranty of Roof - Don't Believe It

We purchased an 8 ft Jay Series tent trailer in 2011. The roof showed buckling and a wavy surface in several places extending from both sides of a central underlying structural support.

The roof was replaced and covered by the Life Time Warranty given to the original owner in 2013.

In 2018, the same exact problem occurred again. When brought to the attention to Jayco, the company this time has denied my request for another roof replacement. Although the Life Time Warranty is still valid, since I'm the original owner, Jayco is now telling me that the buckling and wavy surface is a "cosmetic" issue which is not covered by the Warranty. The CEO at Manteca Trailers and Motorhomes, where I purchased the unit, agrees there is a problem but contends it's structural and not covered by the warranty.

The tent trailer has rarely been used, it's stored covered and next to our home in Danville, CA which has a very mild year round climate.

The unit has been washed perhaps 4 times using only water and Dawn.

Jayco has no explanation for the bucking and warping. Regarding the Life Time Warranty on the roof, don't believe Jayco!

I bought a 2018 Jayco eagle 355mbqs 5th wheel.nothing but junk had many problems every time we went camping, had electrical problems, plumbing problems, slides won’t go in and out, water heater doesn’t work junk junk junk!!!

Guest

I don't now why Jayco took such a turn for the worst. At one point in time Jayco may have been the best RV in the country.

But right now at this point in time Jayco is the worst junk on the market. I guess Jayco just figures that they can just live off their reputation. Bottom line is it's not ok to be robbing the consumer. Which is exactly what Jayco is doing right now.

So dont accept faulty Jayco junk. Fill a claim with consumer protection agency, the better business bureau, and contact the Attorney General office.

Jayco may believe that consumers don't deserve what they pay for. But the courts have a completely different view of that.

Guest

These faulty Jayco units should have never left the factory in there condition. Much less be sold to the poor unsuspecting consumers.

What we need is more people contacting the consumer protection agency, the better business bureau, and the Attorney General office. And have Jayco stop selling this junk all together.

Guest

I will have to have a closer look at mINE? Unfortunately their is "NO QUALITY CONTROL" AT JAYCO!

If there was this kind of poor quality workmanship would have never left the plant! Again a reminder to all people out there "BEFORE" you buy any RV- travel trailer, 5th wheel motorhome, even tent trailer or camper- If you buy one and Thore Industries, which owns 3/4 of the market out there, You are buying junk! Remember I warned you! My new 2017 Jayco Eagle 321 RSTS had 19 issues in less than 2 months of ownership?

I have numerous postings on the issues, just getting it back tomorrow, it has been in the shop 7 months or all winter. Same yourself the trouble! My next one is a Grande Design Solitude!

Compare the 2 and you will see quality construction, solid construction as well! For $11,000 difference and lots of bargaining!

Guest

Looks like kind of a patchwork electrical job that should have never got past quality control at Jayco. This does not look like the dealer even looked at it but it could be dealer did not want to be the one to "finish building" the unit for Jayco.

Darol Apn

JUST ANOTHER "QUALITY BUILD BY JAYCO'! PURE JUNK!

Check out You Tubes 7 hr build on a Jayco trailer. What a joke! Quality, Omish built! I had mine flood out on my first outing.

I gave my wife do do over splashing water around or having a bath in the sink! LOL! turns out the water line under the sink was hand tightened only from factory, and worse yet my dealership never tested or inspected it prior to leaving the dealership.

NO QUALITY, NO SERVICE!" JUST QUICK BUILD, SELL AND THEN ITS YOUR PROBLEM. I just looked a Grand Design and there is a company that puts 100% quality in there RV's.

I took my 2018 back to Harper Camper land in Great Bend with a extremely large list of issues. And I am happy to say that Harper has done a great job of addressing all issues.

To this point the folks at Harper Camper land have done there best to repair jayco's issues.

I'm looking forward to trying my unit out again. And like to say thank you to the folks at Harper.

I took my Jayco junk back to Harper Camper land time and time again. They try to make repairs but it's useless.

Because in another day or two there's another list of problems. Im tired of wasting more and more money on this Jayco Eagle junk pile. So have hired a attorney to get a refund. I payed for a new solid unit not a rebuilt piece of junk.

The sad part is that Harper Camper land now's that they are selling junk and it don't bother them at all. They keep doing it every day. They have an answer for every thing and under no circumstance consider refunding your money.

I guess if they had to refund for all the junk they have sold there would be no Harper Camper land. Oh Harper Camper land is celebrating 50 years of robbing consumers while everybody that purchased this Jayco junk is suffering in agony.
