Jayco = jumnk

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a new Jayco jayfeather in 2008. Almost immediately the rear plastic bumper cracked and the finish came off.

I contacted Jayco and they replaced the bumper through their dealer. Within 6 months the bumper did the same thing. The cracking would start at the mounting holes and travel down the bumper. It became so bad it was unsafe to pull down the road as it could fall off in front of traffic.

I have since bought two new bumpers as replacements at about $500.00 each. Jayco refuses to acknowledge the poor engineering of their product.

Building a replacement out of metal is not an option because of the shape and contour of the bumper. I will not buy another Jayco product.

Took my maiden voyage and the floor creaked (I'm not a large person). The rear speaker did not work (yes I checked the hookup).

The deck covering is coming up in the storage area. Was leveling the RV and the crank pin broke.

Replaced it with a nail (works good. ...

Original review Oct 08, 2016
I bought RV in September 2016. The craftsmanship inside this unit looked like the people constructing and inspecting did not care.

The back dinette bench had a half inch gap in the front. I looked at the framing and it was constructed that way. The flooring under the bench was not stuck down and was curled up. The floor covering was bubbled in front of the refrigerator and will soon crack.

The latches for the cabinets are uneven and one is bent and will not close properly. Almost every screw is crooked and look like the workers were either not skilled or don't care or are rushed. I picked up a handful of staples from underneath the dinette benches. There was boot prints underneath the mattress.

Some of the drawers and shelves had sawdust on them. I bought his POS from VOGT RV in Fort Worth, Texas. The sale went very well. I have called the service department 3 times and each time I was told a tech would call me.

Three weeks and waiting. If Jayco wouldn't build *** RV's, I wouldn't be calling the service department.

Jayco won this one.

Jayco Precept 31UL

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Our 2016 Jayco Precept 31UL is beautiful. It's comfortable riding with plenty of room for the two of us and our two dogs.

I would recommend this motorhome for anyone who enjoys RVing. They honor their commitment to customer satisfaction. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our Dealership worked with us to facilitate our purchase.

We would recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing a trailer or RV. Great customer service! Jayco goes above and beyond to keep their customers happy. Jayco is a very reputable company and I am happy that I have been able to do business with them.

We know many happy Jayco RV owners who are also more than satisfied with the quality of the Jayco RVs and trailers. Thank you for being such a great company.

Resolved: Poor Quality Product - #NeverBuyAJayco

Haven't received an "update" in more than a week. I don't want this piece of junk back. I want a full refund plus finance charges. This has been a disaster. In the 41 days that the RV was at the Manteca Trailer and RV dealership, they detected additional problems necessitating the replacement of the solenoid. Since this did not correct the refrigerator LOdc problem, two new batteries were installed. They also replaced the driver side window and new keyless entry lock, as the first one never was able to be programmed. August 19, 2016 Update: Since the 2016 had been at Manteca RV since June 30, 2016, we were told that we could take it out on another trip, while we are still waiting for more of the warranty problems to be corrected. We never heard directly from Roger Johnson, or anyone else at Jayco in Indiana. On our four day trip to Southern Oregon from California, approximately 600 miles total, the following new problems were noted: Navigation system did not work. The play in the steering wheel has been problematic since Day 1, necessitating a constant moving of the steering wheel to the right and left to keep the RV tracking straight on the road. As we drove up Highway 5 in CA, we started hearing a loud popping, ping sound, as if a bolt had snapped. This happened approximately seven times over the length of the trip. The sound was located in the front passenger side area. Refrigerator ran continuously in propane mode, never stopping. The LOdc error message periodically flashed on the refrigerator. The front air conditioning unit did not cool the below 95 degrees, even though unit and the Cummins generator ran continuously all evening. The windshield wiper on the driver side skipped over the front window about 6 inches at a skip and was not adequate to cover the size of the window, even if it hadn't skipped. The passenger side wiper skipped but not the degree that the driver side did. Bathroom medicine cabinet backing inside detached. It was only held in place with silicone to begin with. Wind squeaks returned to driver side new window, as well as passenger side window, window in exit door and gasket area on passenger side slide-out The USB ports and plugs are only operative when the generator is running, not when the motor is running. I could only charge my cellphone by using the cigarette lighter socket. The Auto Level Retractor only registered that the left front and left side as retracted. The light stayed lit for rear and right side, necessitating that we exit the RV to confirm that they were, in fact, retracted. The generator showed an error message 35. On our first day out, when we returned to the motor home, the only door in or out of the unit was jammed. We struggled for 1-1/2 hours before my husband finally gave one BIG pull and the door popped open. After that, we still had difficulty opening the door from the inside. We would have to sit on the inside top step and push with all our might to get the door to open. The plastic trim on the kitchen cabinet shelves is not attached and has started to detach. Manteca Trailer and RV picked up the RV this morning. It is unknown when this very poor quality RV will be "fixed." I am in the process of pursuing the California Lemon Law. Please, please, please, never buy a Jayco product. False advertising. They are not made by the Amish and there is not Amish craftsmanship - just cheap quality. Even the handles on the cabinets are at an angle, not level. Like looking at crooked pictures on a wall. Jayco Mission Statement: At Jayco, our mission statement is: Committed to being the most respected name in recreation vehicles. We will consistently build a high quality, high value, competitively priced product at acceptable margins, treat every situation with the highest level of integrity in a timely manner, and continually work to reduce total cost to achieve acceptable returns.

2017 Jayco - Eagle Ht Rv Review

Bought a 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 5th Wheel bunkhouse two days ago, didn't even own 48 hours and is already in the shop took home slides and water pump already out. Stopped payment on check, said it would take several weeks to fix and would have to get contact Jayco for approval. Very poor quality once you actually spend time in it, and not rushed through walk through. By the way camping world in golden Colorado nearly killed me and my family, they failed to hook up and wire brake control correctly. Not cool driving through the mountains with only your truck brakes pulling 10,000 lbs. T

We bought a brand new 2015 Jayco Eagle Premier rsts from Layzee Acres RV in Orillia Ontario Canada and payed $83.000 for this unit and put $45.000 down. We have been on the road for ten months and now have two bent axle hangers and have been sitting in there compound for six months waiting to have them repaired as we were told it was not safe to drive this anymore. This has been *** as they start work every morning and the noise does not stop. No sewer and 30 amp hydro. Nobody gives a *** about us and we are still waiting. It is now starting to snow and we can't go south for the winter. Desperate for a fix. Beware about buying Jayco. Look else ware.

I have a jayco octane that only had 5000km on it when the whole tongue of the trailer started to buckle and the trailer has never hauled any toys in it yet and was empty at the time of failure. I have been fighting with jayco for over 8 months and still have a trailer that I am paying on but is not safe for the road. Buyer beware don't buy jayco

Had similar problems. Forget the factory. They lie and it comes back in worse shape. Will take forever to even get it back and there drivers use it, and trash it Remember it came from them like that in the first place. Only option is to find a local repair facility away from Jayco and there dealers

I should have mentioned that I bought the trailer new as well

Original review Aug 29, 2016
I have a 2015 jayco octane 273 toy hauler that has never hauled anything and only had less than 5000km on it when the whole A frame hitch assembly buckled and welds broke. I have owned many trailers and this is a first that could have resulted in my death as well as others since it happened coming down a 6% grade or more into Valdez Alaska.

I am very unhappy with this especially since I took over a year researching who made the best product for my needs.

They have had the trailer over a month trying to fix the frame as well as all the interior that is twisted from the frame. I do not believe this is acceptable for a one year old trailer and I would suggest to never but a jayco product if you value your life.

2016 Jayco BHDS - Furnace lasted 12 hours!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought a new 2016 Jayco BHDS travel trailer. Paid $30,000. Our first camping trip out where we needed the furnace it ran approximately 12 hours and went crazy. Just clicked but would not light, fan ran when the thermostat was in the off position, etc... My husband drove 50 miles one-way to get a new thermostat, but that did not fix the issue. He had to pull the fuse in order to get the furnace to shut down! We are scheduled for service on November 5th; 2 weeks away because the service department is completely booked at the dealer we bought from. A brand NEW trailer should not have these issues!!

2016 Jayco Melbourne

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We bought this new due to the supposedly good reputation of Jayco primarilly the Mercedez Chaisse. We were thinking of resale value The Jayco camper is the shoddiest piece of workmanship I've ever seen. This is supposed to retail over $100,00?!?!. Water pours in the cab as we're traveling! It's been to the factory and to a local repair...still leaks badly! We sent videos to Jayco of my husband holding his coffee cup catching the running water, while driving. It trickles on our dog laying between our seats. It trickles on my lap in the passenger seat. The screen door hinges broke on the bottom! How doest THAT happen. We haven't had a screen door since July! Customer service sent the local repair company hinges, but actually, an entire door section is needed. Trying to get someone to respond and follow through is a joke. Roger, from customer service, is ineffective AT BEST! 4 months ago, we had a date set for Jayco to pick up the RV and drive it to the factory in MIddlebury. I sent a confirmation letter, fortunately, because no date had actually been set! Two days later, I'm waiting for a response for a driver. DON'T GET A JAYCO. No matter the warrantee, if they don't fix it nor respond, you can have all the warrentees in the world! We have bolts coming up under the linoleum. The valance decorations just fall off. Trim falls off. The back slide jerks off the track. The list goes on and on. There's only one word I have after all of my dealings with Jayco in one year with our brand new Melbourne.......BUMMBLEFUCK! I can't believe this business funtioned as long as it has prior to the sale.

We have not had any problems with our 2016 Jayco Melbourne. Everything works great.

It has been on 3 trips across the country. Jayco and the dealership had been wonderful.

We love our Melbourne.

Jayco 42 Ft Northpoint 5th Wheel--What a piece of ***

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Husband and I bought a 2016 Jayco 42 Ft Northpoint in January, also bought extended warranty to make sure we were always covered. My unit is under original warranty, only 6 months old. One of my grey tanks is not draining, so all the water has built up in tank. I noticed this on June 13th. I called Jayco and filed a complaint, I found a mobile RV repair service to take a look at it--so he did. He contacted Jayco (Jayco is mad because I did not bring the unit to them). The unit is in a RV Resort in Dunedin, Florida, thus having a RV Mobile service. Long story short, its been almost 2 weeks and the leak under my unit (the grey tank) has got worse. I have been calling, the repair man has been calling to no avail with this *** for brains company. I finally get a hold of them today---the part (grey tank) has to be made. They have none on hand because they dont have room for them. Told me if i had taken it back to where I bought it they might have had one for me--my response to them is why dont you get off your *** and call them and find out if they do--they can ship it to the repair man. No such luck. Jayco is dragging their feet to fix the work that is needed to be done on the unit (install a new grey tank), mean while my grey tank is dropping. Now they tell me it will be atleast July 11th before the tank is done but can be up to 2 more weeks after that---WTH!!! This is why you have a warranty. There is no reason that it should take that long to install a new tank. I am furious. Juan Martinez with Bayside RV Mobile has the photos of this piece of ***. I will never ever ever buy Jayco again, infact, I might just get an attorney and see what I can have done. Until then, I will post bad reviews on every site i can find.

2015 Jayco - Jay Flight 23rb Rv Review from Sandia Heights, New Mexico

We purchased abrand new 2015 Jayco 23rb from Camping World and we've had problems ever since it left the place. for the first year the stove the fridge wouldn't run on propane finally took Them over a year to convince Camping World that there was an issue with it.staples on the seats were pulling apart because of no screws. the shower stall come of the wall cause lack of plastic rivets so had to glue and silicon the whole bathroom. Both propane hoses have been replaced cause of propane leaking. We took 1 trip to Wyoming in the snow 3 months later the whole trailer frame is rusted due to no primer on the metal. But the best is watch this video of my brand new trailer on the hot water heater. It was catching on fire and blowing up it was not good! Jayco say they have A 2 year warranty on all the appliances they're telling me that spiders crawled in there and caused this damage and it's a maintenance issue what kind of a warranty is it if you have to pay $150 diagnostic Fee? overall I do like the layout of the trailer and it is light but I haven't had a camping trip yet without an issue!
