2014 Jayco Eagle Ht Rv Review from Brandon, Florida

the dealers spoke of the great insulation in our 2014 eagle ht. the electric bill for the single airconditioner trying to keep a temperature differential of ten degrees from outside for 1 month was over a $100. it was as much as our 11 room house which keeps a more comfortable differential. insides of cabinetts were hot, heat poured through skylights and cheap windows. the energy efficiency is a total lie.

Same thing on Jayco pinnacle 36kpts two a/c's won't keep up in mid 90 degree temps. Inside of window frames run at temperature of over 94 degrees, sky light in bath room about the same as window frames maybe a little hotter.

Inside of cabinets melt our medications.

Walk in closet in bed room gets up to 100 degrees inside (I don't think there is any insulation in the cap) Head board on bed radiates at about 85 degrees in morning sun on outside of bedroom slide out. Their R value claims of R30 in ceiling and climate shield results are all marketing hype and I call BS--- This $75,000.00 piece of *** is also cold in the winter

2016 JAYCO 317RLOK BUYER BEWARE

My wife and I took delivery of our first brand new Trailer on May 6th, 2016. On May 7th, 2016 a rain storm rolled thru northern Michigan, I wonder what happened next yes you guessed correctly the roof leaked. Not just an occasional drip but a steady stream. I called Jayco and they told me not their problem the unit is under warranty call the dealer. What a bunch of ***, call the dealer I asked the customer relations rep from Jayco, did the dealer build the trailer no responded the rep. but we give our customers a 2 year warranty so have the dealer fix it. Well now I am really pissed so I called the dealer and they took a look at it and stated the air-conditioned was loose, from the factory, and the frame tore the gasket. Great News they found the issue however 2 ceiling panels have started to separate as well as possible mold. The dealer can haul it back to the shop and do the repairs but then our summer is cut short. Not happy at all with Jayco as they state in their videos how the customer is # 1 as well as quality, I call B./S. If quality was your passion than why is my roof leaking, the closet sliding door was broken, 1 day night shade had a broken string, the screen door was so misaligned that a small animal could come right in the trailer with the door closed. The decals on the front of the trailer are peeling as well as the ones on the side of the trailer. Folks this is a $60,000.00 trailer this should not happen, but talk to Jayco they will tell you how important quality is again that's B./S. I hope the owner, and all the quality people at Jayco buy a new car and the car dies on the side of the road in no mans land, when they call the manufacturer for assistance the manufacturer tells them to POUND SAND. I will never ever buy anything with the Jayco name on it, and let everyone I know that Jayco is junk. Have a nice day

I just looked at a Jayco Eagle 317RLOK I am now a bit weary of a purchase that this individual had such a bad experience wow will do more research on other brands

#1345174

I ageee with you 100%! Jayco is absolute junk!

Nice looking on the outside! Nice plan, BUT- the quality of the build is junk! So much for quality! Just a few issues with mine: main door , you can see daylight at bottom, frame was damaged and installed- new at factory?

Screen door is warped. Can see daylight 1/2 way down and across the bottom. Small bugs can get in. Back frameless window: can see 8" of daylight from inside.

Quality build! Pantry door has 3/8" gap to 1/8" on top. Have 4 plywood floor squeaks. One which runs under the shower??

The whole bathroom needs to be torn apart. One in front of the bed and dresser, forgot to screw plywood down? Slide with dinette and theatre seats: when fully retracted,- 3/4" gap at top to nothing on bottom. Seal is jamming up?

Bottom support bracket was not welded 90 degrees square. 3/8" piece of valance missing - torn out. Staples not filled in on trims. Panelling is delaminating on pantry and closets.

Less than 4 months old only! Towed out to our acreage 85 Kms. Our retirements investment- $73,000 - poorly constructed by Omish! So much for Jayco's best on the business and best in quality?

Yes- all BS! Save yourself a the grief- "Don't buy a Jayco!"

@Darol Apn

I'm curious here. You have all of these issues, and especially with the screen door and the back window that you said you could see 8" of daylight from inside.

Before you even bought the camper and did a walkthrough to look at it, why didn't you check the windows / doors, etc out? These and all the other issues you are reporting would have been easy to spot by a simple walk through.

#1337961

I have owned 6... Montana and jayco are now Thor.... true trash!

#1345178
@PissedConsumer1337961

My last one was made by Thor and I see they bought out Jayco? Was a water trap.

I carried tubes of silicone with me at all times! Every edwindow, access panel- exterior boot access, propane storage tank, access seeped water. I had to remove a lot of linoleum to dry out the delaminated plywood. Back window: panelling - had to totally remove it and replace.

Water line sprung a leak under sink. Had to virtually- gut, 1/4 of trailer! It was full of mildew and black mould. Finally sold it and bought a Jayco!

Just another headache! Built by Thor.

#1330227

I would not either. Jayco's are cheaply made from what I have seen on You Tube. Spread the word.Any company that blatingly rips people off has got to go.

#1310360

Read a lot of complaints about Jayco. Would like to hear what Brand would be a good buy?

#1171800

I agree whole completely, Jayco is junk

#1170842

Has this problem you experienced gotten better. We are looking at buying a travel trailer and they all seem to have poor quality. Any advice.

#1275122
@PissedConsumer1170842

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE MANUFACTURERS HAS LEMONS,SINCE 1998 I HAVE OWNED JAYCO,THEN IN 2000 A SALEM BY FOREST RIVER THEN IN 2003 A COUGAR AND IN 2010 ANOTHER COUGAR. BELIEVE ME EACH CAME WITH ISSUES.

Jayco Rv Review from Santa Clara, California

I owned a Jayco 184bh Baja edition, fantastic trailer no issues what so ever. It was our first trailer, no issues everything worked great, we traded it in for a Jayco jay feather 7 22BHM because our family truly out grew it. We went with Jayco because for the price the quality is there, if people are expecting caviar taste on a cheese burger budget then look else where; but if your looking for the best bang for buck travel trailer Jayco is the way to go....... no issues from me and my family we love our Jayco.

Dont assume anything

We looked at a 2016 Jayco Seismic 4112. Decided on it. Found out that the model we paid for didn't come with steps on the back deck/ramp. The steps only come with the 2016 delivered after Jan 1, 2016. Would have been nice to know before we signed the paperwork. Dealer is more than happy to SELL me the steps. Jayco wont provide the steps because rules are rules. Ticket price of the camper? $105,000.00 cheap, lying jerks. You need to verify every last detail, every last feature, everything! Jayco nor the dealer have no need to do what is right after they got your money in their hands.

i have just purchased a 2016 and have never seen so many problems. first switch that transfers power from generator to coach burned up at the dealers lot when i was picking it up.

then the digital door lock went out while they were getting it ready. both mudflaps tore off on the way home the slide out leaks. and a piece of the wood on the column that they forgot to cut off, tore *** in the lino. then it rained and the slide out leaks.

whats next.

i have only owned it for less than a week.

Back wall coming off

We purchased a used 2008 Jayco Eagle in Oct 2014. After our last trip in Dec. 2015, I was behind my husband when he pulled out of the campground. The back wall of the 5th wheel was swaying a good 2 inches. Stopped him and he put screws in so we could get the trailer home safely. When we purchased the trailer we noticed a crack on the left back side of trailer, when we inquired about it at Town and Country RV where we purchased it, we were told that it was nothing. Well that crack is now 3 times bigger and the right side also now has a crack. When we talked to a rep from Jayco at a travel show recently, he told us that there was nothing they could do because the trailer was out of warranty. I feel betrayed by the dealer and Jayco. We cannot sell this trailer with a good conscience.

I have a similar issue with our 07 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel. I think that the back wall stays inherently square while, as the trailer body flexes while in motion, works against the molding in the low corners alternately squeezing one side and opening a gap on the other. I try to make repairs but it just keeps occurring.Trust me, It's not you!

#1194277

7 year old used trailer and it's Jayco's fault? How do you know this unit didn't have a catastrophic incident during the 6 years prior to you buying it?

#1155537

Sounds like you messed up.

#1141546

Do you know , at least, the history of this trailer ?

#1141056

So you bought a used defective trailer and that's Jayco's fault?

The dealer should have never presented you the unit with those problems.. The dealer is supposed to completely go through the rig before putting it up for sale, let alone delivering it.

All brand RV's that arrive at the dealership require cleaning and adjusting. You say it's a great dealership? Not if they presented a rig w/o adjusting the issues or cleaning it.

Good luck with future repairs at this dealership. They sound shoddy at best to me.

Jayco Feather 23RLSW - Leaks water

We bought a brand new Jayco and the first rain it leaked with the slide out extended. Then we took it camping on a weekend that didn't rain when we were camping, however it did rain on the way home. When we opened the trailer up at home there was so much water on the floor that the carpet and all around the base was wet. This trailer is 30 days old and this seems so unacceptable, we'll see how Clear Creek RV handles the issue.

2015 jaco eagle premier

2015 jayco eagle premier:so far 4 shelves have collapsed, slide motors are poor quality, slide on fridge side going in and out at an angle.Trim around ceiling in bedroom keeps falling down, closet rods hangers made of wood, both sets broke,I replaced with set bought from home depot along with a heavy duty steel closet pole.If this is Amish quality craftsmanship, spare me,the cabinitry is cheaply made, the supports for the shelves only have one(1) screw off to one side holding the thinnest panel, which breaks,up look out,the staples and single screw draw blood, thoroughly disappointed,$60,000.00 escape home and we thought Jayco was a leader in the industry, hah!!
