We purchased our 2015 36 REQS from Hilltop Trailer Sales in Minnesota--brand new off the lot.We paid 60K+ for the unit and were happy with it for 2 years.
We didnt travel extensively, and never had the unit exposed to harsh elements in places like Florida or Arizona. When we removed the unit from storage after the third season, the paint looked horrible! It was cracked, faded, and generally looked like ***. We contacted our dealer, took photos, submitted information, etc.
They claimed they had never seen this happen before--oh right!?! We later learned that this is a VERY common problem with Jayco Units. Bottom line, Jayco would do NOTHING to repair the problem, our dealer GENEROUSLY offered to repaint the unit for $5000! Really?!?!
The dealer in Minong, WI--who we hadn't even purchased the unit from, offered to do it for several thousand less. If we had purchased a $60,000 vehicle and the paint looked like this after 3 years, you can bet a car manufacturer would stand behind it.
If you are thinking of purchasing a Jayco--do it with the full understanding that neither Jayco, nor their dealers stand behind their products once they are out the door.We will never purchase a Jayco in the future.
